The coolant leaks into the crankcase and the oil level raises until it squirts out the dip stick. It's a big leak I bet if a coolant leak down test is done the leak could be heard, leak down test needs to be done with oil drain plug removed to allow water to flow out.tommymonza Thanks this.

@gentleroger can you explain this. Maybe my understanding is wrong. Under normal driving conditions any moisture inside the engine will burn off. Also normal oil changes should take care of moisture as well.
My Volvo oil temps are between 209 to 235. So moisture would be present? -
I was wondering if, because of how much the truck sat, excessive water build up cpuld occur. I have no idea if it's possible or not.
-
You are correct, under normal condition any condensation in the engine would be 'vaporized'. Condensation would only be a problem in an engine that's constantly not warmed up to full operating temperature and its evidence would be a milk-coffee sludge under the oil cap.Lepton1 Thanks this.

Why does he think head gasket? Did you see coolant in the oil?
My crankcase vent froze up last week and it pushed 1 gal of oil out the dipstick tube.
Get a second opinion.RedForeman, TopDog20, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
That's a good point, he might not have any problem other than a blocked crankcase vent. I don't remember seeing a heater on my 13 Cascadia with DD13 engine, my 13 Ford F-350 6.7L has heater on its PCV vent.Lepton1 Thanks this.

Gates Racing 31367 GATES Cooling System Analyzer Tool | Autoplicity
Every truck should have one of these in their tool inventory.
I would suspect anywhere from cracked oil cooler to a cracked block. Blown head gasket would not be freeze relatedLepton1 Thanks this. -
This tool is out of date, most newer vehicles don't use this type of radiator cap anymore. An up to date tool

I wouldn't say this tool is a 'must have' on a truck, in a repair shop absolutely. A good place to buy tools is www.tooltopia.comrolls canardly, TopDog20, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I try to Shy away from new Krap. I have had this for 40 years. Very handy for testing from radiator or hose leaks to more serious bad head gaskets to corroded or cracked blocksrolls canardly, Lepton1 and Tombstone69 Thank this.
