I'm just dumbfounded why it would take 3 days to install a set of batteries:biggrin_25512:

They were waiting for someone to quit so they could get batteries out of an abandoned truck.

It may not slow down the 19 others but I’m learning from this posting (and many others) and would really like to see all the follow-up even the part when the OP posts about her husband getting a good driving position soon.

I have a Q about leasing a companies truck, does it come with a contact with some amount of fright/loads? If it’s just a matter of sending them $$ each month for a wore-out truck why would they bother to give you loads if they have there own ’new’ trucks to make money with? Maybe they need you to haul any extra loads they don’t have room for but can ya make any money hauling ‘leftovers’?

I may need to post this in the “Qs from new drivers” but I’ll see if this is answered here.

Good question Cy Ran! My husband was not given a contract or made any promises on loads. In fact, the guy who trained him during Phase 2 (also a brand new lease driver) was stuck in NC for three days waiting for a new load! When I heard that, I was concerned about it because those lease drivers can not afford to be sitting . . . they have way too many expenses! Another BIG reason my husband did not want to lease. I wish he had just stood his ground and waited for a company truck, but he had heard horror stories from guys who had been sitting for weeks waiting on a company truck - and he needed to make money to send home since I am currently unemployed myself.

He has accepted another position with a reputable trucking company. He told them up front every thing that happened to him with CR England and that they might get a bad reference from them. They told him they know all about how CR England operates and they could care less what they have to say . . . LOL!

That's when I say, "Fine give me the batteries." Then I go into the store and buy a 12inch adjustable wrench if for some reason I lost the one in my truck and put them in myself.
