These trucking companies will lie their butts off to get drivers into their equipment without drivers they themselves have no job

Any company that uses dac is most likely not a good choice, they use this against the driver as a weapon and a way to trap drivers into staying with bad companies
This is another tactic of degrading driver wages and such that's why it's so important to take a good hard look at any trucking company before jumping in head first into some nasty pile of worthless trucking outfit and having to claim them on a 10 yr job history

This gentleman has given you some good advice. Working for any company that uses DAC is like putting a "ball and chain" around your ankle. You actually are a prisoner or a slave.

Unfortunately most companies with more than a hundred trucks use dac.

You posted this story last year, almost word for word. Anyways, I have had no problems with them. I worked my way through OTR and now run a dedicated run near my home in Florida. Sorry for your bad experience.

I've read these threads for a year now in depth before chosing my first truck company. And if you don't believe me do a search. Your insult sucked bud.

You see last year when I posted this the other component of this situation had not affected future employment, now it has. I have a pretty good sense about what is at the root of the company's action. I believe the husband of the husband/wife team who attacked me without provocation complained to Tony Wallace and/or John Stomps threatening to leave Total and being a husband/wife team who had more time at the company, regardless of the circumstance the powers that be cut me because it was easier. It makes perfect sense. As the heading of this category says "Report a bad company." Others can have a great experience with this company or any other company for that matter. This was my experience. I liked working for this company. I tried to make it work. I was a "team" player doing whatever I was asked. I have a long history of being a "team" player. Having spent 10 years active duty in the US Navy and getting perfect evaluations my entire career there I know how to follow rules. I enjoy trucking. I don't mind being gone from home for weeks at a time. I know that no company is perfect and there are many obstacles to this line of work. I hope others have a great experience with this company and other companies. This was my experience. That's all..

Ah ok, sorry to hear all that. I had a little bit of a rough start but one of my friends recommended me to his FM so I got in with a really good dispatcher. He ran me over 3k every week and from everything I heard from others I've talked to they push for you to stay busy although a lot of people prefer to stay at about 2500. If it was that couples fault, well that's just plain lousy that they could affect your future elsewhere like that. Hopefully it all works out, if nothing else you could find a smaller company I'm sure, or something local until it falls off your dac. Best of luck for ya.

I was dispatched out of Olive Branch and the first dispatcher and I did not get along but the second one was positively the best dispatcher I had ever worked with. We got along really well and respected each other. My truck was in the shop alot and the mechanics missed two separate problems multiple times. Tim the previous terminal manager promised me a new truck while I was up in PA but when I returned to Olive Branch he told me there were no trucks available. I just kept plugging along hoping and hoping. I did whatever I was asked to do. One day in Loudon while waiting for my truck I retrieved empty trailers from shipper 75 miles away. Was more than happy to accommodate. These facts that made Tony Wallace want to keep me make this whole debacle harder to take. I'll get over it, it just chaps my butt....
