    Look, you guys...
He no doubt dislocated his finger due to an act of, uh, self gratification while in the sleeper.
If I filed for workers comp every time that I wounded myself in action, I could retire rich.
    Talk about "handouts".. sheesh!

I've been with then for 10 + years, been late getting home 2X.. (over 24hrs late)

trailers.... if drivers would tell breakdown about the trailer needing repairs they would get them fixed but if no one will tell them how can know they be repaired.....??

as to the finger I don't care or want to know how you did that....... but as to you clam about it your full of something... you got hurt on your OFF TIME

    I don't get it.
When ya get a one post wonder, who leaves a one line message about a company being lousy, you chastise them.
When someone leaves a somewhat detailed post about a company's fault's, as seen by them, you chastise them.
I never worked for USX, but I've seen enough posted about them on here to know they are less than the perfect place to work. What is so hard to believe about the OP's story?

I think the issue with this post is the OP’s contention that he should get workman’s comp for hurting his finger while off duty in the sleeper. He seems to think that because DOT mandates a brake that it should be considered a work injury. If he was at home taking the same DOT mandated brake and injured his finger would he still think it was a work injury?

Yep. I agree. Issues is with the workers comp for the finger.

Well, just playing devils advocate, it was on company property. Now saying it was because of a mandated break might be stretching it.

I don't see where complaining about US Express comes as any surprise. Granted the finger issue sounds lame but just about everyone on the face of the planet know this is NOT a good place to be.

Off duty is just a line on a log book page. When you are in possession of a companies rig you are at work and under the their rules. So at work, even when in the sleeper. USX habitually denies claims to give the driver more hoops to jump through, even legitimate claims.

Also i am 6'3" 250, guess how many times I have cracked my dome inside a truck? Lots of ways to get hurt around a truck and unlike the childish donuts in the earlier posts. I suspect he lost his balance and grabed something to keep from falling.
