your skill level says it all. truck drivers OTR should be starting out at 50 k a year BUT if your happy at #### wages, more power to you

 

I don't care what you wife works for, I am talking about truck drivers in the industry and the slave wages that companies continue offer. But you and others continue to accept as GOOD wages, hey but thats ok, it's you.

 

70 hours in a truck at 40 k a year comes out to about $11.00 an hour
70 x 52 weeks = 3640 hours
40k divide by 3640 hours = $10.98 hour
make more money at McD's

 

Depends on where you live in the country. Different areas have different tax brackets. And I’ve actually worked at a McDonald’s-the most I’ve seen was around $475-after taxes-every TWO WEEKS!! And at the time minimum wage was around $5.75 (circa 2002-2005-I was living in Illinois).

 

I am talking about a single person, no spouse, no kids, no trust fund, no house that parents left, no military retirement, no second job or income,. A truck driver with three years of experience in America should be starting out at $25.00 hour or $52,000 a year for a STARTING wage. But you and others continue to accept garbage wages as OK. Thank god there is a driver shortage and the wages are starting to go up. Everybody is competing for drivers. Oh these companies have the money to pay you, they just pay what you accept until they need more drivers to make more money. Capitalism, don't you just love it.

 

yea now McD's is paying $11.00 $15.00 hr, seen Walmart hiring for $15. to $18.00 this should have been wages 20 years ago.

Just think of all the hoops you have to jump through to be a truck driver, clean record, drug test, if you want hazmat, TWIC card, doubles, triples, passport on and on and on and all they want is to pay you crappy wages, come on people, your worth more than that.

 

I made $58,000.00 + last year, home every night, never touch a weekend, 9-10 hrs a day, OT after 40, decent benefits.

What garbage wages am I accepting?
