Discussion in 'Report A BAD Trucking Company Here' started by sixdogstruckin, Nov 5, 2010.

  1. How the H3ll do you know what he started with? You think a guy who has 25 trucks HAD to have someone give them a start?? WTF? How do you know he didn't start driving a truck himself and work real hard, save even harder, and scratch and fight and build.

My Dad has 15 trucks. He started with a local trucking job and a motorcycle he rode year round. Nobody gave him ANYTHING! He didn't borrow anything, either. He was 18, married, had a kid (me), and had to provide for us. He saved and worked and saved and worked and bought an old International COE and began clawing and scratching his way to what he has now. Why do you think if someone owns a few trucks they MUST'VE had help??

If the company you're leased to is screwing you, why have you let it continue? You have said they're not standing behind you. Well, I don't want any carrier I'm leased to standing behind me. That's a perfect place to stand to make it easy for them to bend you over. Keep them in front of you so you can watch them.

My Dad, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather are or were O/O's. According to them, the "old school way" you keep referring to is to man up and take care of YOUR truck and YOUR business. It IS YOUR business. Universal contracted you to haul deliver, not repair your truck for you. If you think you are being screwed, you should leave.

so paddletrucker you only read the one post? how do i know? The guy told me in one of his posts,i havent figured out how to do the carry over yet but if you read the whole discussin you would have seen where he said just because i have not driven a truck and you have that makes you more Knowledgeble? Before you leap paddletrucker know what you are gonna land on!

  4. Nope, read the whole thing. Twice.....and this is what I assume you're talking about. Maybe I took misunderstood, but I thought you two were debating over aspects of the industry and he owns trucks and you drive and own only one. I may have been wrong, though. There was, however, NO place in his postings about anyone giving him a pot load of money to go out and buy 25 trucks. YOU assumed that.

My point was in response to THIS comment that you made.

Why is it an "obvious fact" that he had to have someone backing him? My Dad didn't and he's got 15. He could have more and he used to. He's winding down to retirement now.

You make another assumption here, too. You assumed that he doesn't drive because he owns trucks. I'd just bet he has a few miles behind the wheel, too. Just because Pape own trucks certainly doesn't make him less knowledgeable about the industry than a guy who owns and drives only one truck. He operates a trucking company and so do you. It looked to me like he was responding to you in that vein. He asked the question why your driving a truck makes you more knowledgeable about the industry AFTER your post where you assumed that he didn't drive, but simply had someone give him a bunch of money to buy trucks. So yes, I read the whole thing.

Sorry, bud, we're just gonna hafta agree to disagree. We probably agree on other stuff, though.

If you want to quote another in a post, just hit the "quote" button at the bottom right hand side of the post you'd like to quote and it'll come up for you. It will give you two brackets, like this [ ] with some writing and then the word "quote" inside of them. After the quote, it will have the brackets again and it'll look like this [/QUOTE]. Everything between the two sets of brackets will come up in your next post. Good luck posting. It's fun, isn't it?:biggrin_25525:

A lot of new O/O's do not plan for the unexpected and even a few that do fall victim of the FIRST BIG $ CHECK that rolls in , do not realize the $ belongs to the truck and buy themselves some TOYS.

When REPAIR time rolls around its OH OH no CASH FLOW.

There are a few COMNPANIES that will FRONT YOU $ for Repairs , at a 25% surcharge , thats more like LOANSHARK than OLD SCHOOL

You know alot of people have accused me of assuming things on here and you know what? Maybe i did.My apology. But You guys are assuming a whole lot about me.If you would have read everything you would have seen where i put $13000.00 into this truck in a year, some borrowed yes, that was my mistake. The point i was making is the way these guys do book work and deductions out of your payroll is staggering,if you seen 444s comments you would have understood more of what i was saying.

i still say to go get your own authority get out there and pay for you own fuel and bill your own accounts. Then you would appreciate what Universal did for you. If not then get back to company driving or hang it up all together and be a wal mart door greeter.

My dad taught me a long time ago. You pay for your own bills. It's not someone's responsibility to do it for you. Once a person understands that. He/she will see the world in a different light. I expect to pay for my son's bills.....he's 12 though.

Dave 0755,like i told you give a couple of months and you are gonna see what im talking about, deductions and mistakes one right after the other.Keeps you in the hole all the time.I dont expect anyone to pay my bills, never did.But when you have a company that has made this many mistakes and admitted to doing it,then you kind of think well maybe since they have screwed my payroll up so many times they might Help.Being honest im glad they wont,i didnt want to go another year with no pay and have them saying #### We screwed up again sorry,we will get it back to you which never happens because when they took for that your insurance or road taxes or plates didnt get paid,so now that has you in the hole.Like i said you are going to find out!

6dogstrukin my post was not DIRECTED at you nor had anything to do with you it was a generalized response to rickybobbys post.

I have READ all your posts , and really could care less about the $13,000 you put into your truck , all you do is whine about how bad the COMPANY is because they will not front you $.

You know flatbed i think you need to reread the first one again, maybe some others Too.I am not whining about anything,if you read it you will see i am describing a company that stole a load while i was in the process of repairing my truck. Then you will see how they added that into a Loan i had to make to get the truck out.I am also describing a company that has made so many mistakes off of one simple loan that i have not seen revenue in 9 months. Not just on the loan mind you but other things like forgetting to charge for permits and then burying it two settelments down. Its called rollover bookkeeping,It keeps you in the hole.Yes we did get into a Discussion, some of us about Trucking companys and how they used to be,or how some remember and others do not. Then im accused by many of not knowing how to add,not knowing how to have a reserve, etc, etc. If you will look you will see i said For Grins and Giggles i asked. Then i said it is becoming common for them to leave their O/O 1600 miles from home. That should clue you in that they are BANKRUPTING there owner ops by Rollover bookkeeping and when they have, they could care less.In these writings i have stated i should have pulled the truck,in the post you will see where i couldant because they had my broker tied in too and he is a Friend i have worked with 20 years. You will also see that my revenue is very high and as of right now my broker is putting toghther all the loads i have hauled for him to put with my records to give to the Attorneys. There are Seven Others doing the same for me.You have no idea what i have been doing trying to get this load now on to destination and both the customer and the agent can tell you they are p1zzed at Universal because they are the ones holding it back,Not by not loaning me money but by not wanting to get a truck in here, which i told them to do from day one!I am not that far from one of the major terminals. What they are doing is incuring as much charges against me as they can, so if i did fix my truck they can try to come back and collect, ive got news for them,we are ready for the court battle!
