Some places require a P.O. for anything.
No matter how small the costs.
    Then others have price limit.
    Each company is different.

But why should a person have to buy things for somebody else's trk and not get repaid?

    I understand the persons point.
If you fail to pay me back the first time, then shame on you and you buy the crap for your trk.

When the company is honest and pays you back, and as far as pay I dont get paid by the mile,I get paid by the hr and yes that is what I do if the truck breaks down I call for road service because I get paid for every minute in the truck, unlike you,not every one makes chump change and kisses up to the company to keep thier junk running, there are good companies out there that take care of the equipment they own, if you would realize there is more to trucking than running your mouth then you might make some money also.

i dont understand why anybody would pay for anything on the road. scales oil additive lights could all be put on a fuel card. i worked for 1 company who during orientation told us they would charge us $50 for a cash advance but wanted us to pay for tolls and scales. i questioned that and was told they were not a bank and i said im not either and walked out. If we worked in a office building we would not pay for copy paper or printer ink but yet truckers for some dumb reason will buy all this crap for something that isnt even theirs.

Add up all the money you have put into your company truck. Then think to yourself you could use that for something you need or want. Your an idiot just my opinion.

"Who will pay for oil" (laughs). Perhaps you can post a detailed list of questions all drivers should ask during orientation.
One Example: Who pays for toilet paper in the company outhouse? Are we required to use our own cleaners? How often? What if I drop my can of lysol & the spray nozzle brakes, what should I do? ...etc.

Did your stint w/ mega carriers when the gett'in was good?, .... well bully for you. Try it now for a year or 2, then let's see what you have to say about it man. I double dare ya.

drivers need to stand up and tell their companies that this is not my truck or trailer and i am not paying for tolls, oil, lights, additives or anything else for the company. technology is a wonderful thing with ez pass and fuel cards but as long as these dumb drivers are willing to buy stuff and pay for tolls companies will continue to take advantage of their employees.

This is interesting. How do you get paid for every minute in the truck?

And if you know about these good companies, why aren't you working for one of them?

I think I pointed this out before, but I'm not a company driver, never have been, never will be, and so you can't compare yourself to me. You outcho leeg.

There ya go. Stand up for your rights! Park the truck at the toll booth and refuse to pay, or run the EZpass lane. If a light is burned out, leave it burned out and take the ticket for it. Run the truck out of oil until it shuts down, then just sit there in the truck until someone comes to get it. That'll teach those evil companies a lesson.

BTW, the carrier that I'm contracted with pays all of our tolls, and the few that don't take the EZpass, they always reimburse them. We had a little trouble with getting fuel, but we obtained our own business credit cards, and now they're out of the loop and we're building good credit. That's what I call finding a solution to a problem instead of ######## about it. Give it a shot sometime. It might work for ya.

I agree with you, except when it comes to the toilet paper. I carry my own roll, everywhere I go. Have you seen the paper they have at Love's?
