I've about convinced myself that it will be a good fit for me. I had a couple years in with Jones Motor, same self dispatch type of setup and did well, pulled about 50% LS loads.
I'm doing hopper work now, steady every week pay, but never opportunity to have a "great" week.
My concern is I don't have a trailer and I haven't tried to finance one. I was hoping I could rent one from LS until I'm sure I want to buy one.
Anything else I need to think about?

LS will give you a trailer, you pull their trailer or if you want to make 7% more you can get your own trailer. LS does not rent trailers they just put it in the % they take on the load. LS would also help you buy a trailer if you wanted. When I was at LS they would order Great Dane trailer if drivers wanted to buy their own and give you the discount price they would get for ordering several at a time. They did not require much money down payment.

Unless you are moving to open deck, then you can rent your trailer from LS

But you’ll get 73% instead of 65%.
You can write off the trailer rental on your taxes and I do much better paying the rent than I would the getting the 65%.Speed_Drums and blacklabel Thank this.
