That's remarkable..... Lots of exercise too ?

I'd like to start but fear I'm still too heavy at 275 and could hurt my knees.I walk here and there but nothing regular. I can walk without a problem, but finding the time is something else entirely. -

Congrats on losing weight via Atkins so I surmise you know the reason WHY you lose weight while on Atkins? Right?
i mean it would help to figure that out, so you stay motivated and carry on the mission. The Atkins diet though can be a very difficult diet to keep on to. Carbs are addictive. As a rule diets don't work, but in this case it's not just a matter of sticking to Atkins it's making a conscious decision to change your eating habits forever. I've been doing the Atkins or a derivative for years, not because I was overweight but because it makes sense. I firmly believe that the enemy of the body is not fat but sugar! Unfortunately the medical community and the drug companies have bamboozled us into believing that cholesterol is the real enemy but that's nonsense. I'm not gonna go into that argument because it's a hot potato, no pun intended. I keep carbs to a minimum, and eat plenty of protein, fats, and fruits, veges...yummy. Sugar is out, so no more sweets, donuts, bread potatoes etc. BTW I'm 60 yrs old, 180lbs. 5'10" and never been on meds of any description. After a recent medical my doc said my cholesterol was 210...to which replied,so? He was stating I should go on a statin. I told him to stop being ridiculous. If I want to lower it, and I don't, then I'll do it naturally. As long as it's not over 300 I could care less.
however, just as a pointer, about Atkins, be aware that it's easy for these doctors to mis diagnose you with a pre-requisite of diabetes because these clowns get confused with the difference between ketosis and Keto-acidosis it has happened to me so beware of that. If you stick to Atkins you're gonna have ketones in your urine, as described in the book, but all that is, is that the liver is working very efficiently and burning your fat source to produce energy, and not from glucose. That's a simplistic reason why you lose weight so quick via Atkins. Good luck -
Yes I'm quite aware of why I'm loosing weight and I'm pretty motivated to stay on a low carb but high fibre eating plan.
Once in a while, when I'm home I'll eat spaghetti or some other carb that I shouldn't, just to be social and keep the peace. Then the next day my body reminds me with joint pain and general aches and pains that surface. I guess it could be a gluten thing too I suppose.
Either way, I'm eating healthier than I ever have.
