Just looked at my Freightliner shop manual from 1979 and it says the 3406B weighs 3190 lbs. so if you pulled that out you’ve got the Cummins licked.

We haven't pulled it yet. Basically the cat motor should be the block crank cam and tranny that's basically what'll be left on that

I'd guess around 3,000. It was slow going bringing mine home from the shop. I had it on a small flatbed behind my '87 F150. To take it back to the shop after the rebuild I had a friend with a 1 ton drive
Adisiwaya Thanks this. -
I always seem to need way more than necessary. Getting close enough with a smaller loader or fork truck is tough.
Oxbow, Adisiwaya and spsauerland Thank this. -
If you need another lifting bracket I've got one kicking around somewhere

I use a 5K forklift at work and separate engines from transmissions. Getting as close as I can usually still can't steer because pulls weight off the back of it. Good 8K service truck crane is awesome. We have one but don't use it inside because you #### near forget your name from the exhaust fumes. I used it when pulling a motor on our Case 160 excavator and it was cats meow.

Well been otr last two weeks being home for my 34 on the weekend then one more round before I'm off for a week. I have a big tract bobcat coming to pick up the big cam 3 400. I'll drop both transmissions. Hopefully it'll be enough

I have fork extensions for my forklift. Good enough for an extra 16” of reach. But most of time I’m dealing with salvage trucks so 95% of the time fuel tanks, boxes, and brackets are pulled off out of the way first.
Adisiwaya Thanks this. -
Well after calling back around because I had a funny feeling the guy gave me wrong specs for bobcat that's no longer a option the lift capacity is 2100lbs.
Soo second shot. I know have a cousin lined to with a big fn logging loader (forks and grapple) style that'll lift 15k easy coming to help me. I'm going pull motor and tranny together now that way I can hopefully slide everything in at once
Can anyone help me with parts numbers for bushings for the Cummins engine mounts? Having a hard time finding Anything online -
The isolators may be a chassis part. Try the truck manufacturer for the appropriate isolator to that installation.Adisiwaya Thanks this.
