Which one do they still make? Do they still make a mechanical!?

 

Where is the Yellow Engine maker now for the OTR trucks. Oh yeah they QUIT when the EPA came calling and forced them to cut emissions. Cummins Detroit stuck it out and stayed around. CAT ran after their ACERT disaster of a motor and never has been heard from again. What was that almost 10 years ago since a CAT engine has been made for OTR trucks. Oh BTW my wife works for CAT making their injectors for their larger engines.

 

Gentlemen, can we get back on topic? What has all this have to do with helping Jammer with his questions on an engine he already has? Just throwing terd bombs...

 

Jammer normally if it broke the crank it will at a rod journal. You will need to get it line bored to make sure the block is true but unless it put a chunk thru the block you should be fine. First boss had a Small cam 290 snap a crank under load. Well he line bored it out dropped a new crank in it all new parts and upgraded it to a 350 for the driver. That was almost 24 years ago and it is still running for him. These things short of being shot with a 50 caliber machine gun keep running.

 

I've got one myself I've been working on. Anyone have any spare engines they would part with?

9 speed transmission the trucks ready to go runs and everything new brakes new airbags needs a few things the motor says remanned on it so it was rebuilt sometime

 

Still following this thread to learn what can be done to my bc4 ntc-315 motor. I don’t wanna make smoke. Just clean efficient power for pulling heavy equipment in the mountains.
