They must be training these new drivers to act this way. I hit the road and run the truck like I owned them. When repairs needed fixed they got done. I have never had to drive thru a scale to get a truck shut down. All you have to do is log the break down and shut the truck down yourself. This is our right as a professional driver and its the law. I see so many post on here about this kinda stuff. Its wasted words to me if they had taken the CDL test they would know what to do. We are all issued the fmcr book and should know the laws. Or at the very least the basic knowledge.

What do you expect? Most of today's drivers were working at Burger King before hitting the road. The old days are long gone....
kjkbnapier Thanks this. -
I wouldnt say that back, There are some good new drivers they are just mislead into believeing they do not have rights. When they have more rights then the company who pay them. There use to be a time when we all got alone and had good companies to work for. Now days the companies think because they can train a boat load of drivers in two weeks that we can be replaced. They are finding out though that the turn over rate is hugh and the cost to the driver is hugh considering they are not sure if this position is even for them.
This can be a whole new post about new drivers that come into this industry and not sure if this is a right fit, Most dont understand whats going on till they are in debt and quit there real jobs to come on board. The long hours we have to work and the complete bordem we endure and the health issues you gain from driving otr, Being away from home for extended periods of time can almost kill a person at times. The cost of living while being on the road is not taken into consideration either. I could write a book about the good and the bad. -
Why does this sound the same way as a little outfit i worked with in East Prairie, MO. I would have had that truck shut down asap. My two cents...

The truth be known, there's other reasons why I went to work for a small carrier,An to thows guy's that want to bash the drivers.WHAT COMES AROUND,GOES AROUND.
Ive learned alot from reading some post here,I may be old, but Im new to the computer.Big daddy express is a real company, when I learned about the web site"safety stat fmcsa" I pulled them up.Looks like he's only been in bussiness 3 years.
Since leaving,I reported him to the DOT(this has to be done on the computer)the next day I recieved a call from DOT.An gave more dates a locations of probable violations.I told them about the accident,in chicago. In a white truck;turns out the trailer had ice in the air lines.( my 1st interstate accident in 25 years)
Ive also made a complaint with the "federal dept of labor".I submitted copies of all paperwork, receipts,an my logs. They told me by" state law" that they could get me $7.25 per hour worked. This is only half of what he ows me.
So I told the woman, well If he'll pay me $750. Ill let the rest go.If not then ill take him to small claims court, for alot more;car rental/motel/doctor bills+the meds.I hurt my shoulder in that accident an he just left me in a motel room with no transportation,my stuff was still in the white truck,an he wouldnt take me to the doctor.
Bobby told that woman that I wrecked the red truck,The truck is 10 years old an the bumper was hanging down in the middle.( I videotaped myself driving on snow covered roads) He also told her I abandon the truck with no comunication. He agreed to meet me in the k-mart parking lot(the same lot his son told me to go to;so he could collect previous bills)This guy doesnt have a yrd of his own.Im glad I took pic's of the truck the same day I left.
I also got on my laptop an pulled up my phone records, for that day, total of 8 calls.
You should report him to the IRS,this guy thinks he's smart.an can get away with breaking laws, well Im gonna be his brick wall.(I started working for bobby jan 21,2010 an left feb 11)He told me that before I arrived the DOT came in an busted him for $15,000.I dont know how true this is,because,BOY! Bobby is one big habitual lier.an aparently so is his son.My shoulder Is a bit better,an im going to work for another carrier.
I told the woman from dept of labor, comming to chicago to file in small claims court wont be a problem.Im curently gathering evidence against this man.An would gladly accept any help from any previous drivers of his,Im thinking of putting an add in a chicago paper.
He'll regret the day he ever tried to rip me off.If you want to talk njb2459@bellsouth.net. Ive been in a law suit b-4 I dont back down or quit.An last time I won.Its what you can prove. -
what you dont know about the trucking industry, would fill a bigger book than what you do know. You can tell that by your stupid statement.

kjkbnapier Thanks this.

Anything important in reply,Ill eventualy hear about. brandy -
The driver reports to the owner, the other truck has problems.Driver is ignored.Driver still complains.Driver gets cursed at by owner.Driver pulls into a scale house, wants an inspection done.Officers state, they dont have time.So driver quits. Im just lucky I dont have a family to support,In this recession, when there are so many drivers that would gladly drive junk. -
As long as it gets read,an the information spreads,Ill gladlykeep up your negative entertainment about me;and slam you right back. Your young "boy,"an in this bussiness, you never stop learning.
