I would think that may be a tall order unless you have a proven track record with a local bank or lending institution.
Best of luck to you. -
Look in the back of truck paper as there are some places BUT you must have title in hand (paid for) to your truck

CAT financial in house financing. No bank would touch this with a 40 ft pole.

Wouldn't a bank call it a business loan. PNC said I would have to be in business 3 years. I'll be looking to do the same thing, with that same engine model.

I will be the ''bad'' guy here. You say that your an O/O..?.But you lack the funds for a rebuild..?
I would think that as a business owner that you would be putting money away for the ''rainy'' day..This is a pet peeve about the trucking business and O/O's.People not managing there money and possible hauling cheap freight. This is the END RESULT.I have watched this for 25 years and counting.
Why are O/O's not putting money away.?..The total gross you make weekly is NOT YOURS...!!!!...Maybe a 1/3 is yours. The rest is TAXES,TRUCK MAINTENENCE and Operating Costs...!!!!!!...
Ok,i am done with my rant....I have 25,000 set aside for any and all MAIN ISSUES...!!!!...IT IS NOT MINE TO SPEND....JPenn, Clasix1055 and cetanediesel Thank this. -
How much are you guys paying for the engine work on your truck? I just dont understand where all this money goes for an inframe. I love the statement by landstar, it is spot on. And I will stick with my statement, you cannot run an older truck if you cant work on it yourself. The shop rates/ overcharges will kill your profit leading to the end of your business.

A platinum overhaul by CAT house is $18K and some change not including any extras, or possible sales tax... It can go much higher depending on what else a person decides or need to change out. Honestly they should just give you a new motor for what they charge, outrageous, but when I priced actual crate motors they mentioned it was in the neighborhood of $30K+ with a core exchange... I went thru this last fall and financed it 100% from my "truck fund". Like you guys say, very little of what a truck makes, at least my truck, and obviously many others here, actually turns into "play money".... ...The vast majority of it ALWAYS gets put back so the truck can EAT it at a later date, lol...
Ukumfe, landstar8891 and cetanediesel Thank this. -
While I agree with everything you posted and appreciate your many contributions, I really get a kick out of folks, not just you, that post some sage after-the-fact advice in every possible thread that even hints at an opportunity to second guess someone's circumstances.
You don't know if the OP is a fool that spent whatever funds he had unwisely (happens often, so I get it), or if there's something else going on (relative dying of a terminal disease, spouse lost their job, other major repairs they got screwed on, and so on). Don't be so quick to judge.
I can appreciate this in-frame finance question since I've been there through some fault of my own, and a lot more that wasn't. One in-frame adventure that drained out reserves, followed by a series of other unrelated unplanned repairs and corresponding loss of revenue is all it takes.
Kicking the old, dead horse is a lot of fun but not all that productive.Oscar the KW, Ukumfe, rickybobby and 1 other person Thank this. -
