And yet the people who actually have experience can't get hired. Thanks to the Liberals for that one.

Wow that is straight up insane!

I remember awhile back when a Tsar company (A B Gill) in Edmonton was found guilty of 3 million dollars worth of fines and 1900 charges over a month span. They were all dropped, nothing happened. Just insane!

Charges dropped against Edmonton trucking company facing $3M in fines

The Humboldt company owner (who knew his trucks were running illegal, with phony Driver Inc drivers) is back up and operating in Calgary, only the company is in his wife's name. Chohan Carriers is operating out of Calgary also, like nothing even happened.

Pretty sure it’s perfectly legal, and theirs nothing anyone can do about it.

Yah, it is a crazy world we live in when one can break the law and just file under a new name and continue with their illegal activities. Madness.

Thanks for sharing the video. It’s frustrating to see companies hiring foreign workers while many qualified Canadian drivers struggle to find opportunities. Unfortunately, this often feels like part of a closed circuit—from certain driving schools feeding preferred candidates, to companies bringing in foreign workers with specific ties, to recruiters and dispatchers who favor insiders. This creates a cycle where some Canadian drivers are systematically kept out despite job ads suggesting otherwise.

Just yesterday, I saw an ad stating “employment letters from overseas accepted!!!!” which actually opens the door for fake or unverified credentials, while local Canadian drivers face much tougher scrutiny and higher barriers.

I also placed a job-seeking ad on Kijiji recently and noticed some frustrating patterns. Many callers, mostly from one particular background, started the conversation in their own language—assuming I was from their country. Then, despite my ad clearly stating I’m an experienced driver looking for a job, many still acted as if I’m offering a job instead. This shows how assumptions and closed networks make the job search even harder for drivers like me who don’t fit those expected molds.

It’s a tough reality, but hopefully, more awareness and open discussion can push the industry toward more transparency, fairness, and merit-based hiring for all qualified drivers.

Furthermore, many companies claim to support diversity and equal opportunity, but in reality, they are often not serious about it.
