*Update*
Just saw my last check and these folks are very dirty.
- They charged me $200 to recover the truck even though I called them that Morning telling them that the electrical issue they had "fixed" a few days prior had come back. I told them THAT DAY that the tech said there was a short he couldn't get to and the truck needed to be looked at further. This is in addition to the fifth wheel issue (couldn't couple/uncouple, repair shop said it needed to be completely replaced). I was actually on my way to bring the truck to their terminal in Shelbyville. Keep in mind the truck was 180 miles away from their terminal. It did not cost them $200 to recover their malfunctioning truck that I had nothing to do with breaking. These are also folks that talk a lot about God and Christ and whatnot. Experience has taught me to be alert when I hear things like that during business and I see why.
I don't get a call from them all day. I drive up later on in the afternoon to where the truck was parked, and there's another driver in the truck, there to recover it.
Keep in mind, I gave these people the courtesy of a 2 weeks notice, which I will no longer be doing. I couldn't take a load because the fifth wheel needed to be replaced (trailer actually came off of the truck under a load, luckily I was pulling from a stop sign).Being nice gets you nowhere these days, I get that completely now. Lesson learned.
Big G you keep that money. It's really nothing. I will simply make my money and do my part in explaining what sort of people you are any and every chance that I get. I fully hope this thread keeps drivers from you because no man trying to feed his family should be robbed that way. I was basically punished because your equipment failed. I won't bother with a lawyer because hey, this is America. No money, no voice. I'll just work hard and get my own Truck. Keep pushing good drivers to go on their own. It would be a great thing to see drivers take back control of this industry. Keep screwing people and you'll have less and less folks to drive, your companies will fail and you will have no one to blame but yourselves.

I hope they dont gig you for abandoning a truck...
I believe I made.a.post earlier on this thread warning about them.
even though I have never worked for them I know several people who have.
My neighbor lost his house trying to make it on their pay. The funny thing is they are paying less now than they used to.
I have learned to stay away from any of those companies in Tennessee who dont pay anything.
if they tell you that you will be home every week then you will not be making any money...
the only way I would consider it would be if I was retired...
you should call Ozark. .. much better companyRubberDuckie Thanks this. -
Hey, push come to shove, I'll just get an office job with some carrier. I'll make it but, just....wow. This industry is ridiculously corrupt.

Thats interesting, I started there at .36 cpm, just turned 3000 miles last week, and haven't sat more than 2 hours at a customer.Several have been drop and hook..I have been driving 22 years and have worked for miriad of companies, and this outfit is better than most. I dont go home every weekend like 85% of our drivers do, I go home every 2 weeks. However, I live close to Shelbyville so home for a 10 hr. break about once a week does happen. Their insurance has improved greatly, and orientation is smooth, 1.5 days not a week like omst big companies. I got a decent truck, I had to scrub it with vinegar and water to get the nicotine off of everything because the previous driver liked to mow down the Marlboro's...If you want to go home every weekend and still get 3000 miles a week Big G is not for you!. IF you are a new driver with 0-2 years experience and feel that .33 cpm is low Big G is not for you...This is an employee owned company, so if you are into wasting the companies money, it costs everyone that is an employee owner, so you are costing yourself money, free money that goes into your retirement..Remember some of us older guys started at .18 cpm when we started...so .33 is not that bad..If you have any questions feel free to pm me.
8thnote Thanks this. -
I have been driving 12 years with no tickets, accidents nor csa points and they told me .33... no way
glad you are doing better though... I did land with southeast and really happy... .37 cpm and run all I can legally and get home when I want for as long as I want...Air Breeze Thanks this. -
Hey get used to being ripped off by trucking companies. Since its the federal government
that regulates this industry.Thats where you need to point your finger every time you get
cheated out of money you should be paid. Oh ya, don't forget the ATA they really care
about you too. -
If it was before the first of the year, they have raised their pay since then, I applied 4 years ago like the company not the pay, and when they raised it, well here I am, also since they went ESOP a lot of things have chnaged for the better
