See that's the thing. Every company has their ups and downs. A driver will say it's the worst of the worst, but they have drivers that have been there for 10, 20, and 30 years. I guess it all comes down to personal preference. I worked at Big G from 2000 until 2005. For me, it was an excellent company. I was home every week-end, but it was a fast week-end. This was before the days of the ELD, so I was a different time. Back then we were assigned the same truck and I don't remember ever sitting for longer than a few hours waiting on a load. 90% of the freight was East of the MS River, but I did get to go to CA a couple of times as a solo driver. I only left them due to a neurological condition that, in the end, wouldn't have affected my driving career. At the time I remember making .32 but one check would pay all my bills for the entire month. I miss it.
