Looking for some big(ger) hooks for 3/8's chain to use to hook onto equipment tiedown hoops. Maybe a 2"+ opening. I can't seem to find anything Grade 70. Farm n Fleet, RSC, Rural King, TSC, Fastenall all don't have anything. Thanks in advance.

You might try a heavy equipment dealer such as Caterpillar or John Deere.

Try a rigging supply outfit such as Tulsa Chain should have what your looking for and it will be rated, another little hint I used the loops off of old wire slings may or may not be able to use them OTR as they dont have a rating on them but I know I got mine from a cran company I used to work with good for tying around the feet of some machines and you dont wanna mess up the threads on the levelers.

I have 4 sets and have only used them once. The problem is that they require a certain angle to work properly with the J hook. The T and R hooks only work on certain types of vehicles with the correct spots in the frame. JD equipment has these most the times, but you can't use them on Humvees and other stuff like that. I prefer to just loop the chain and hook it, because just a little movement with just a hook is very likely to come off the point. By looping it you allow it to have some movement and in my opinion, it much safer this way.

Used em before however more and more vehicles are coming without the provision for them due to damage from over tightening.
