I don't personally know him, but I respect him.
We all understand he spent a lot of $ to fill a "nitch market". And for "him" this could be a financial funeral.

But fair is fair. I spent enough time and $ to be legal in Western Canada.
Cut my *****!&g truck in half to make wheelbase requirements.
Looked high and low for a Canada legal trailer.
So I got some skin in that game.
Do I think they should end that b.s and allow a standard u.s rig, or a Eastern Canada rig in.
    You bet I do!!

What do you mean "outlaw"....I thought this conversation was about changing regs to accommodate different axle configurations in various states?

An 8 axle could be more profitable...but likely won’t be after the rate cutting 8 axles get a hold of it.

By the same token, it doesn’t mean my opinion is less valuable than yours. Although you have no actual skin in this game and trumping low shipping cost via equanimity doesn’t cost you anything.

I am not at ashamed or sorry that I protect ting my interest is important to me. If I don’t look out for my interest no one else will.

Besides look how success washto permits were... they were standardized.

Sorry , at the beginning of the conversation it was moving a load on a inproper setup then was required.
Now the conversation is about regs .
Haha ,I did say I was late to the party .

Think you need to reread. And stop adding something that’s not there. I understand Ron has made a significant investment. I also understand why he doesn’t want to see this change. But, I think it will benefit the industry as a whole. If you have something to add, I’m all for listening to it. If you want to jaw jack you can go back quite.

I am also western Canada legal, so my feeling is still the same.

You should have loaded that electric dump truck on 6 axles - I thought the rate was a little light. I am sorry you sat for a number days in Vegas but surely that wasn’t a shock ...

cke and Old Iron Thank this.

I have skin in the game. What makes an 8 axle an automatic rate cutter? Just because they can do the same job cheaper?

I’m a bystander right now but I can see the big picture. How about my example of the California contractor? Isn’t his interest as important as yours? I can respect you protecting your interests but I can see a lot more than you on the other side protecting theirs.

If I did miss read then I do apologize .
I am human , I can misread and make mistakes .
As far as the standardized goes , i think there are pros and cons . It will hurt some area and benefit others .
I am a true believer the easier the game is to play the less skill it takes .

cke, Feedman and Humblepie Thank this.

I think if you have a edge and can move a 9 axle load with a 8 ,all the power to you . I think that is great .
What I am saying is if everybody can do that over time the rates will follow .
So you will get a 8 axle rate not a 9 axle for that load .
Can you still make money at it ? yes .
If it was me I would like to have the edge so I get the 9 axle rate .

    cke and Humblepie Thank this.
