Loaded a couple of crane girders today. Of course it has to be tarped, all 95 foot of it.

I think it would be hard to be the push truck driver with the hood that close to the load, or would at least take a minute to get used to.Pamela1990, PoleCrusher, Tug Toy and 4 others Thank this.

it’s not really an issue, the hood clears on turns
yeah probably just used to it, can never really see much on any loads In the backPamela1990, PoleCrusher, Tug Toy and 2 others Thank this. -
Double pull trucks is probably better in every respect I think, but everyone does it like this cause it’s just simpler I guess

I suppose maneuvering might be a bit easier with only one up front.
When two trucks are up front does the lead tractor tend to slide the front end of the second on corners?Pamela1990 and cke Thank this. -
I don’t have much experience with double pulls , we used to have a crew that swore by it though.
it makes sense and especially on something like that with extra tail swing.
I doubt it, turns should always be slow like 5 mph or less
Both trucks should be working together anyways, but that’s probably half the reason no one does it, you need two really good drivers lolPamela1990, PoleCrusher, stwik and 4 others Thank this. -
