For some reason I had loaders on my mind…never even occurred to me you were talking hoes. I know several guys that have couplers and everyone seems satisfied. There all using jrb

The occasional Saturday morning move…gotta keep my regular customers happy though. I have never seen so many dumb ##### in on morning especially for leaving the yard before 7. The highlight is the pickup and covered trailer who passed me leaving an intersection in a no passing zone and made oncoming traffic stop then found them 5 miles down the road with a blown tire. I made sure to honk and wave.
And somehow I got the finger from the stopped oncoming vehicle….idk

Picked up this baby container for one of our other drivers earlier this week.

Then moved this weird box looking trailer across town. Was still 14' high so maybe I should've flagged it up?

Now I'm taking this 9' wide 47,000 lbs crate to Charleston, SC. 88,000 lbs gross.

I was too ashamed to post a pic of me pulling a van trailer this week. At least it too was just across town. I'm a little shorter, 13' 9".

They now have the second crate built. This one has retractable wheels so we can haul it on a double drop. That will bring the hight down from 15’ to 13’8” or so. They also put some securement points. Of course the hole is to far from the edge to grab with a slip hook and the hole is to small to fit a grab hook through it. So we have to use shackles or take the hooks off. F5ADDD36-E2A1-4C03-AD2E-6DA7E39D2D97.jpeg 13884090-9686-4B92-A330-6713F2648BE1.jpeg
Aluminum rubrails hate being pulled straight out like I did on this load. Popped a few welds before I even go the chains tight. Transcraft also puts their securement bar a 1’ from the edge of the trailer, making it a pain to use with chains. Next time I’ll try hooking my chains like this and going to the other side of the trailer. That way there’s no outward force on the rail. 46E5AC37-ACE6-444C-925D-1ABA78CCC6A3.jpeg

Looks like they didn’t put much serious thought into those tie down points but I don’t know what else they had to consider. Better than nothing though

If the pocket wrap is not possible then underslungbinders(1).jpg
might be a possible solution. Depending on the trailer and the bottom beam thickness a hook may need to be opened a 1/8th of an inch.

I like the wedge style a lot more than pin grabbers. Lower profile and less sloppy than pin grabbers.
