I can see why you need that enormous spread, with weight like that aboard. ;)

CAXPT, Feedman and Oxbow Thank this.

I am back in the Ohio Valley for a few more days while the airship has a maintenance week. So I get make to you what they use. We use Motorola within the company and they work fairly well. But are pricey and “require” a licensed installer. I’ll report back with model numbers.

VHF is the way to go or something similar. And it’s not like there’s a lot of chatter on the CB anymore. It’s just the random quality of radios and their instillation from one vehicle to another.

Business class FRS radios may even be a good option.

I assume you guys are putting the wood block on the last cross member/rear bumper of the trailer???
This one is resting directly on the cross member between the rear 2 axles

CAXPT, Landincoldfire and Oxbow Thank this.

I rest it on the cross member between the two rear axles near the transport bar on the stick, or on a piece of aluminum truck frame with a hardwood block in it spanning across the trailer frames.

Yes Km per hour in Australia which (110) is only 65 mph. Most states it's only 100 km per hour however South Australia and Western Australia have posted speeds of 110, with the Northern Territory having an unlimited speed limit outside city zones until recently now it's about 130 km per hour, however all trucks are supposed to be speed limited to only 100 km per hour so driving over here would be like operating a Swift truck your governed to 60 mph.

The configuration of our boom doesn't allow for the knuckle to come within 2' of the deck when the stick contacts the cross member. I'll try to dig up a better photo to explain.

Feedman, beastr123, CAXPT and 2 others Thank this.

I know what you are saying. I have a fairly deep boom well.
