Ya know, doing what you do, you might want to start looking into an overdrive box. :smt115 Then you would have the deep when you really need it on 8+ axle loads. Then shift it into OD for the empty ride back? I cant imagine it would cost more than two reman rears and the shop installation. Ponder it?

I've thought about that before. But, without changing the rears I'm in the same boat as I am now, only with a deeper drive if needed. I think a set of 3.90s later this year, and maybe an aux box early next year may be the best solution.

In other news, today's been pretty chitty. Got a overweight ticket in WY, and now I'm shut down in MT 90 miles from the drop site because apparently I need two pilot cars for this load here. They sure did bury that restriction in with a bunch of others that didn't apply to me, so I'm stuck at the scale until the morning. Yay me

It was DW21 that got me. Im 122k, and since Im not on the interstate I have to centerline all bridges at 5mph, and have two flaggers for traffic control...

I know everyone runs the pilots but I honestly don't know anyone that actually center lines all structures at 5 mph. If you do remember that MT considers a culvert a structure and there's a whole lot of culverts on two lanes.

I totally agree, there's somethings that the "law" states you need to do, and what actually happens

I remember years back on I 94 when one of those culverts failed and fell in. I got stuck there most of the day while they built a cross over for the oversize loads to get through. Up by the bad route road exit and rest area..
