I went to one of those cdl mills and failed out. Got my cdl through a private school 2 months later. I owe them part of the contract. I ain't paying it. Not because I am any less of a man but because I have more important bills to pay. If that bothers anyone oh well.

So, you asked them for help in getting your CDL. They helped you. Now you won't pay them back?

I understand if you are underwater and have to pay later, but you are proudly saying "I ain't paying it".

You say you are no less of a man...I completely disagree. It's unfortunate they chose to help you out. There are more honest people they could have helped out instead.

How did they help me out??? I failed. The school I went to later told me everything I taught was wrong. Honestly, if I did have the money I would pay it, but I don't have the money for them, not when I have to keep the lights on, roof, car etc. Sorry, but I'm not going to take food out of my wife's mouth to pay a bunch of idiots who didn't train me properly. If that makes me less of a man then so be it, but till you walked a miles in my shoes and know what I have gone through, only God can judge me.

It's not going to bother anybody but the driver. I hope they don't ruin your credit record and if they do I hope it drops off before you try at a company you really like. This is why I don't think it's fair. A driver here has priority bills to pay, the trucking industry sure isn't going to pay him enough to get out of debt right away so here he is. These schools should by law be required to disclose what will happen if they drop the contract. At least give a new person who doesn't understand how the finances work information so they can withdraw and save a few bucks. Then or now if they understand what will happen and just say screw them then they deserve what they get and can stay at the bottom forever.

In all seriousness, I'm sure no one lied to him. I went into school blindly, but knew full well that I was taking a risk in that if I did not pass their program, I would owe them a LOT of money (my school cost 10K...). There's no hiding what the cost of the school is. Jumping blindly into a school without any research or possibly reading the fine print was his own fault. Sounds like he saw an advertisement for the school, thought he'd take their 3 week course, get his license automatically and then get rich with all the crazy big truck driving money. There's plenty of crap schools out there, and yeah, it's a shame, but you usually get what you pay for (or don't pay for in this case, lol).

Well they have hit my credit and it was already ruined.

Didn't teach me right because their methods we were wrong. Maybe u didn't read one of my comments where I said the second school went to told me I was taught wrong. Everything they taught me was wrong. The set up for offset backing for example....the truck they used the tandems were busted...so I had to show I could back up to the right set up, which I did, then the instructor had to reposition us so we could make it in between the cones. Both trucks we used for state testing had no power steering...trucks up kept by school, went out in middle of test 3 times, and then the state came in and shut down all the trucks, of 26 only 2 were road worthy. So didn't get to drive or back up the last two weeks. Had to sit there 8 hours a day and watch everyone else, or had instructors ask me to teach everyone pre-trip since I had 100% on my test.

Congratulations on passing at your second school ! Wish you nothing but success in your new career.

Let this be a lesson to you. Anything your about to commit to in life...do your research. As an adult with a wife and kids(?) at home....you can't afford to jump into things blindly.
