What is your previous work experience? Do you have any idea what you are getting into? Why do you want to drive truck?

Well actually no. But I already drive big agriculture tractors and other machinery so I'm confident on the driving test plus
I'm confident I'll pass I've had worst tests before in college and for the driving test in my current job I drive agricultural tractors the big john deere ones which I know it's not the same thing but close.

I'm an assistant biologist for an agriculture company. Been in this job for three years in contracts of 10 months. I love to drive and being alone. I always have had this dream of someday getting my own truck but never been able to, other things got in the way. Also I'm from Puerto Rico and I want to move the states and well i think this is the perfect opportunity in my life to do just that.

So I guess you must hate being a biologist? Be careful what you wish for, the grass is rarely greener and it could be difficult to change your mind and return to your profession.

Yeah that's why I'm asking so many questions. It's not that I hate it but I'm netting less than the guards that greets you at the door thats playing the whole day with his cellphone and I had to do four years for a degree. Many of my friends are working at Walmart and Mcdonalds making more than I am. I've looked at other opportunities but nothing so I decided to pursue this.

Well look at TMC they have the pretty black petes so you can start off already driving in what your dreaming of owning. They also have 2 different pay plans. CPM and percentage pay. I know they also do cdl sponsorship.. Just another option for ya.

Yeah I've looked into their pay options but I don't know, is it really better to be paid by percentages?

I don't claim to know much about this business but I'm old enough to know about regret. I've sat beside quite a few men at the end of there life. Not one expressed regrets for what they had done, almost all had regrets about the things they didn't have the courage to do.

If you want to move to the mainland...DO IT!
    Texas?...DO IT!
    Drive a truck?...DO IT!

Today is the last November 6, 2015 you will ever see.

I will let you decide there is a video that breaks it down pretty well. The percentage in my opinion is better because you are paid on the entire freight bill. So deadhead miles load securement checking your load and other down time does not affect your pay. They also pay for tarping. The video breaks it down very well. Also they are an employee owned company as of 2013.. They are the largest privately owned flatbed company in the US..
