HOUSTON -The North Loop westbound near the North Freeway re-opened late Monday afternoon after an 18-wheeler lost its load of metal Monday morning. The accident happened at around 6 a.m. and lanes were open again around 3:45 p.m.
Sky 2 shot cars at a standstill as the 18-wheeler, which had flipped onto its side, sprawled across the lanes. Fuel from the truck also spilled onto the highway.

Aside from the fact that local drivers know it's a bad spot to change lanes, even a newbie traveling through here for the first time shouldn't make this mistake. I absolutely HATE missing a turn, off or on ramp, or anything that causes me to go out of route or take more time to get back on route. HOWEVER, that is not an excuse to swerve left or right at the last minute to make that ramp or lane change, which is what this guy probably did. I've maybe not been paying the best of attention in crappy places to drive- like Houston- and missed a turn. Big deal, you follow your GPS and let it get you back on route. Sure I got a fist shaped hole in my headliner from missing turns LOL, but I've never spilled a top heavy load of SUV's and trucks or killed anyone with my parking lot.
