Why would it be BS?
The rules state it must be completed and signed. If you read on the electronic logs it clearly states printed off daily and signed.

I have had the same problem. I was using udrove great logging program but what I have been told is that you have to be able to print off the log everyday and be able to sign it. It shows the last seven days and tracks mileage thru each state but I didn't print it off everyday. It had where I could upload my signature to the website and it would automatically sign my log. I did that but for some states it was not good enough.

You do not have to have them pre-printed, you have to have them available to be inspected,(which can be done on your phone/tablet using the BigRoad app). If the LEO requests you to print them to keep for his records/evidence then you must be able to print them. Which I can personally do. Also in Ohio, the Motor Vehicle Enforcement vehicles have wireless printers in them, you can print them in their cars if you want to be a smart #####, LOL. I would also like to add that if you get just the right cop in just the right mood your gonna get a ticket no matter how fine you walk the line. Just my $0.02...

Do you use it for your IFTA filings?
For everyone else, are you guys talking about eLog or EBOR? Like some pointed out, its a huge difference. -
Guidance: A driver may use a computer to generate the graph grid and entries for the record of duty status or log books, provided the computer-generated output includes the minimum information required by §395.8 and is formatted in accordance with the rules. In addition, the driver must:
1.
Be capable of printing the record of duty status for the current 24-hour period at the request of an enforcement officer.

2.
Print the record of duty status at the end of each 24-hour period, and sign it in his or her handwriting to certify that all entries required by this section are true and correct.

3.
Maintain a copy of printed and signed records of duty status for the previous 7 consecutive days and make it available for inspection at the request of an enforcement officer.

The big road app slows you to sign the log right on your phone in your own hand writing , not just a
E- Signature . So the logs and inspection reports ( both & that's important ) are signed in the drivers own hand on the app
