    I don't really use the deferred. 95 percent of my running is in the states because we are so close to the border. It's good because you can log and edit even easier than than paper and there will never be violations. My company lets me email them in. Don't even have to print them unless I need to

    Actually, none of the standalone app/software logging solutions are legal in Canada on their own. Section 83, subsection (e) of the federal hours of service describes this. If they are connected to the ECM, or if they are only being used to ensure your paper logs are compliant then they are okay.
