Ive always been home every week to do my billing. Now i will be on the road a few weeks at a time. How do you guys do your carrier set up with different brokers/shippers, and do your billing without all the fax cost. What scanners/printers do you use in your trucks. Thanks.

If you have an iPhone, "Scanner Pro" is a fantastic app. About $7.00, I think you can even fax from it, but I've only used it to scan and email. I send my POD ASAP.

If you have the android phone camscan is the app to scan, and then use faxzero.com to fax up to 3 pages for free.

I have my lap top, with mobile internet access,(not smart enough for a smart phone yet)
and a cheap HP copier/scanner. I use Myfax.com faxing service. (a tip from BigBadBill) and I do everything from the truck. Myfax.com is $10/month. There is a limit on number of copies per month before a per copy charge, I think it's 100. I have never gone over yet. If you go with a copier/scanner, be sure to get one with the document feeder. It is time consuming scanning one page at a time on a flat bed scanner.
BAYOU Thanks this. -
I use an Epson Workforce 630. It has auto feeder and also prints, also has the single page scanner. Works great. Myfax is well worth the money. It works directly from your email, just create an email and enter the address as 11 digit number - always include the 1 - then @myfax.com. When you receive faxes it will dump directly into your inbox. For billing I print up my invoices and carry envelopes and stamps. When I get a bit of down time I do the billing and just drop in a post office box. Doing all of this in the truck makes for more efficient time when I do get home. Oh, and carry extra ink and paper.

You will also want an "air printer" then you can print wirelessly direct from your smart phone.

I looked at that option also but when I realized the laptop is a much easier device to make invoices and use the loadboards. I never go truckin without both. I actually have the exact same printer at the house so I can leave this one in the truck.

ok my setup is i have a printer/scanner/coppier my lap top mobile hotspot on my phone and i have an 800 fax number through fax.com for $10 a month for first 100 pages faxed then its .10 a page still way cheaper then the $2.00 a page at truck stops ok billing and invoicing i use ITS-Dispatch offered from internet truckstop its great cause not only will it handle billing and invoicing it keeps track of everything customers, brokers, trips you can even enter in your fuel receipts and trip data and will do your ifta for you everything you need data is stored on the server so you wont lose it if computer crashes that is pretty much all you need to be a mobile office

Didn't know I had made a post already.....LOL this is exactly what I use myfax is $110 a year and what I really like is I don't have to print it to read it I get some faxes from brokers like ATS that send out a load list before I wasted paper getting those and can send the conformation to the drivers so they have all the same info I have
