Thanx guys for all the insight. Anyone know if they have changed in the last 4 years since the last post on here?
-
And yet, they have won the North American award for safest fleet 3 years running. Where do they find all these good and safe drivers?
-
considering they take on brand new drivers it might be something in the training...
-
We had three drivers from India leave bison and come to us. They didn't care about the fact they owe them 6 grand for their licence and schooling. Not one could drive standard. Not a lick. Terrible training. Even they said they couldn't take it anymore. Stuck out for 28 days a month.
Nik2015 Thanks this. -
Pretty standard though don't you think?
-
I'm wondering how they got their class 1's if they couldn't drive a standard.... Isn't that part of the testing that MPI (or whatever province's equivalent) tests among other things?...

I'm still here. The question is for how much longer? They're still the first company I'm working for since I came to Canada almost 8 years ago. They are a good company to start with. Not a single paycheck was late in all those years. If there was any pay missing just contact your dispatcher and the situation got fixed and paid on the next check.
Did they change over the years? Not at all. The driver is still the cow who delivers the milk, not more, not less. Trucks and drivers are replaceable. Trucks are leaving the pool after four years, the drivers leave sooner or later. Any seniority is based on the safety bonus. If you have an accident with more than $1000 damage you'll lose your bonus and you start all over again at the same level in the payscale like the rookie out of driving school. The long loads seem to be gone or they're given to other drivers, I don't know. A lots of cleanup now a little bit here and a little bit there. The miles are down. Three out of the four previous month were below 11000. In September I got sent home after 23 workdays and 10239 miles, they had nothing. But I was lucky I could spend the time at home. I never had to sit for two or three days somewhere at a truckstop and wait for a load. Taking a 36 hr reset on the road happened a few times, maybe 4 or 5 a year.
I'm in contact now with an other carrier but it seems to be tight if you compare the paypackagges. -
Know a few guys that are running team for Brampton based carriers that are pulling nothing but Bision loads. T.O to western Canada. Then reload bison freight south and reload bison freight back to Ontario.

That's what I believe instantly. And then they tell us they have nothing because they have sold everything.
taxihacker66 Thanks this.
