With the alison transmissions that I have run, they work ok once they warm up. It can take a couple of miles to warm the fluid up. Or you can leave the brakes on and put it in gear for a few minutes.

Manual madness: Kenworth can only sell 10% of new trucks with manual transmissions to satisfy feds' climate change concerns
End of W9, according to this, scroll down to below "Cummins Engine"
Quote:
"What these means, is in March and July 2026, the New Next Gen Cummins Diesel Engine will now include a 48V Alternator (re: Generator) that is meant to support Heaters/CPU required to run the new engine system THIS WILL ALSO BE THE END OF PRODUCTION FOR T800WH, W900, and C500 MODELS – There will be a new version of the C500 being released but most likely not until late 2027/2028."

Has anyone had any experience swapping a 2 pedal autoshift to a true manual? Or are they going to make that illegal also.

The KW salesman my friend gets his trucks from says that when the 2027 stuff rolls out down here that however you order the truck is how it stays. No more ordering a 565/1850 and having the dealer bump it to 605/2050 so you can get the suspension you want on the back and avoid a heavier driveline and such. -
