Black stacks?

    I have had customers get valve covers, and the like, powder coated before I installed them on engine rebuild/replacements, and it held up very nicely, a fair amount cooler than exhaust temps though, FWIW.

    Powder coat was my first thought but was told that same thing about it with the heat. I may take and paint my elbows and see how the high temp paint holds up because they are already pretty beat

    I'd think the hi temp paint would hold up better than powder coat. I used to powder coat small parts, and the powder would melt and flow at around 500F.

    I think truckon got it right. I know in the diesel pickup world you can buy "blacked" exhaust tips that hold up to the heat. I would imagine there is some sort of chroming process and seeing these on as many trucks as I have someone is making and selling the real deal.
