Well I feel sorry for the guy but I agree, that's one time he should have got out and looked.
-
Wow! Where do they find these schmucks?

There's something called "intuition". Some have it from the start, others have to develop it. Similar to the USPS admonishment "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is". With all the techno-gadgets people are growing up with now, it would be a miracle if they'd ever cracked open a book, not to mention an atlas.

You sure you have it in truck mode and not car mode? I have the 720 also, and run in and around NYC nearly every day. The only issues I have are where it sends me down roads in NJ that have been recently posted with weight limits (likely because the GPS was routing trucks down those roads and the residents got tired of it). In fact, there are truck legal routes that the GPS tells me are NOT truck legal. So my guess is that you have the GPS in car mode if it's sending you down parkways in NYC.

A GPS is fool proof method of routing...GPS's will guide wrong at times.

Ok. He hit the bridge, I'll give him that. But what was he thinking when he crossed the whole thing? At what point did he realize he made an error?
But you gotta hand it to the engineers who built or rehabilitated the wooden bridge to be able take the weight of a semi, loaded or otherwise. -
I will have to check that. I know I have all my height weight etc set but not sure about that. It hasn't planned a trip that sends me down the no truck routes but if intentionally miss my destination (for ex. Truck entrance turn right on Jones street and is around back) or if I go past it because I no there is a truck stop up the street it will re - route me down the no truck routes. It has only occurred when it re calculates my route

Hey Runningman, never know when one of us Schmucks will show up!!! lol

My GPS is nothing but a tool that helps me do my job. It is how one uses tools that get's the job done. The GPS has many facets and uses. But to believe absolutely in it being right all the time allows some to get careless in observing and paying attention to their surroundings. Use it as a tool but never leave common sense at home.
Moving Forward and 48Packard Thank this.
