You hit the nail right on the head. This is exactly why we quit using hired pilots and started doing it all ourselves.
You and I and a few others on here could probably do a whole long-running thread on the things we've seen pilot car drivers do. Or don't do.
We have some of our retired drivers that do our piloting. They use our pickups and equipment.They like the extra income and we know we can count on them. LOL...they're easy to find except maybe the opening weekend of deer season or trout season or salmon season. They're kinda hard to find then. On occasion we'll grab one of the shop kids or I'll even go myself.
There are some good pilots in our area but our OS work is sporadic...we go balls to the wall during logging season and harvest time but it slows down in the winter... and they're usually in tight with the guys that keep them working steady. Can't blame them for that.
Blame permit,gps or stupid driver?
