I would agree that it was a bit naive of me to expect that it would turn out well. I should have known better, it was wishful thinking. I personally dont think I commited a crime, or did something immoral. I was just trying to make a living, and that was the only thing available at the time, outside of swift, crst, etc, etc.

Also I noted that it was stupid, and I was paying the consequences. So I really dont understand what you are saying. That I should suffer something more than a delay in pay, while dealing with attorneys, and going through a hoops to get my stuff back?
I would think it was clearly established that it was foolish of me to run for this guy, when there were many signs pointing towards him being a scam artist. On top of that, I was only there for a little under 2 months, during which time I stupidly thought I would be put on the payroll legitimately and be running legal any day.
I was in a situation where I was willing to try anything outside of robbing people, selling drugs, or killing people, to provide a living for myself and my children. In the process I deluded myself into thinking that it could work, mind you I was weary the whole time, and got out asap. Its not like I actually hurt anyone.
Government got a couple less bucks, which they will come after I am sure, but I can live with it. I know how monstrous right.Last edited: Feb 9, 2012

Even though you don't want to fool with getting a judgement against him it would be a good idea, because it makes him look bad to any potential lenders. I know I had some past regrets about not going after people who wronged us.

Quit beating yourself up driver....... most of us would have done the same thing in the same situation. I know I did years ago......learn from it and move on.
Just don't get mad, get even. Do the theft report...just be sure you tell the cops the truth.......every bit......then send Vinne and Vitto......and if their busy my friend Raul and the vatos have been wanting to see the dairyland, I'll send them up.....a working vacation if you will.Leftlane101 Thanks this. -

It's not theft since he left the stuff on the guys property. It's a civil matter.
The cops might write up a report and try to remedy the situation by talking with the guy. -
Remember that anyone willing to cheat the govt is willing to cheat you.
Big Don Thanks this. -
So what could he offer that one of the carriers couldn't? A carrier can legitimately put you on a real payroll, offer benefits etc.... I understand the ability to toss a few log sheets out the window and get that extra $$ , but in the end its not worth running your ### for a scammer. People are scared of mega carriers thinking their going to get crappy miles and be at a truckstop all day. With the determination you have to work, you would do just fine. Half the people on here posting complaints about companies and trashing them bring their failure upon themselves.
