Rear view cameras are already fairly common on buses and big motor homes. Newer cars have an automatic blind spot camera and display. No reason the same technology can't be available on big trucks. (Maybe it is an option, I don't know)

Also, many trucks are equipped with blind side vehicles detection systems (sonar based) that beeps when a vehicle is detected and the appropriate turn signal is activated.

I"m not too hip on cars running slower. And when you try to pass them. They speed up and leave you hanging in the lane you don't want to be in.

Market them to the morons who designed the Freightliner Cascadia. I swear they should re-name that truck the Freightliner Blindspot.

In OTR you might blindside maybe once every couple months, here and there at some truck stops? Honestly, getting out of the truck to look would be easier and cheaper than relying on something electronic.

Yessir, put more electronics in the trucks because the trucks are the problem. Everywhere you go in North America, you will see morons matching speeds. My money says that Mr StemHS was in a vehicle that was matching speeds with the right steer tire. If you, Mr StemHS, was reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaalllly interested in safety, you would make a buzzer for cars to let them know that they are matching speeds. You guys dont know that you're doing it. And the reason that you do this is because you are trying to text and use your peripheral vision to navigate. Dont believe me? Go out in traffic and observe cars around trucks. Stupidity at it's finest.

Next time you come upon a truck in traffic, either pass him or stay behind. That should cure 99% of all issues that you could have with trucks.

    cybill234 Thanks this.
