Blocked In Strategy

Or you pull into a rest area with parking to the left or right but you can't make it down the center lane because trailers are sticking out too far and you can't get past them to even get out of the rest area.

 

Imma be 100% honest everytime I stop for a smoke or bathroom break and my *daycab* can barely squeeze thru, I curse the govt for causing this mess...

Why? Cuz they made HOS into The Final Countdown, they made it illegal to park on the roadside, they refuse to expand parking themselves and they obstruct private developers from building more truck parking.

Older folks from the former USSR tell me this is how it was back then and there, go figure.

 

If they’re brave enough to block me in? trust me, I’m brave enough to pound on the door and pound on the door hard at 3 AM in the morning. I am not shy about that.

 

I have several strategies for this. Most effective is the "I'm so lazy everybody is already gone and out of my way by the time I roll out of bed" strategy. I'm not a morning person anyway. I don't like waiting in the bathroom when everybody is hogging the crappers either so I avoid the early AM rush.
