81 is slow goin. ..and fourwheelers take to the shoulder to pass..
i will drive in the middle of the mayo.. i have seen some cars causing wrecks by passing on the shoulder to merge,or just passing in a merge lane..
    actually,some really horrible wrecks.
i have done it in front of highway patrol and with txDOT behind me and no,they didnt ticket me. the DOT got on the radio to talk to me,he knew what i was doing yet he just asked me to merge back over, once the cars stop merging. guess he was in a good mood..
    be carefull out there.

Let me straighten out a few people on here, especially the truckers...

    1. being fair is not the point. merging at the proper point is. those who don't allow those to merge at the proper point are to fault but a trucker blocking someone from getting to the merge point is not using good logic either...they are just tossing their bad logic and weight around.

    2. I drive 140 miles daily (sometimes 7 days a week) so I see it all and truckers are my biggest issue. cell phones, swerving, beating off...whatever they are doing. But the biggest issues come when there are traffic concerns. They guys will swerve way out of their lane to try to block me and since I have a 4x4 I have no problem driving in the grass to get around them.

I'm going to start writing down numbers and calling on these bozos. Their liability is amazing and their logic is poor. just drive your #### truck and pick a lane like the rest of us.

Ignorant people come in many forms.

You apparently one of the many 4 wheelers who cannot read about lane closures.

I ever see you drive in the median around someone and I will dial 911 and report a reckless drunk driver with a gun pointing at truckers.

Payback will be fun and most enjoyable.

You feel free to take it up with the state troopers who call us on the radio and ask us to do it. Didn't know about that, did you.

As a driver of a 24' box truck, I have done this many times. taking up a lane and a half to keep idiots from racing up a lane that is closed or merging and already all clogged up.
In addition I only let someone cut in front of me if they are actually in front of me and signal they are changing lanes. The idiots that try to fly up and expect me to back off just to let them in, cause their lane runs out or exits are in for a rude surprise.
I had someone driving up the shoulder, was on back half of my truck. I got to the turn lane, put on my blinker and started moving over. He laid on his horn and I came to almost a complete stop. I slowly crept up to the light, and took my rt turn just as the light changed. Hope he wasn't in a big hurry. :biggrin_2559:

And when they trace the phone call and charge you with filing a false report?
