It's all good to diet and exercise. Very important.
For me, a blood pressure rise comes from my brain. I can feel it, when I get aggravated or worried. Even going to get tested for my medical card is a bit of a challenge.
Sometimes I feel like I care too much about certain things.
What helps me maintain a normal reading, is to convince myself situations are not worth stressing my insides. I do my best, and then say "whatever ".

    Zoltan1a Thanks this.

I was discussing with my Physician this problem with getting tense during a physical. Most clinics know how to test BP. One thing I always did was get in a dark room, lie on my left side and in my mind spend 15 or so minutes building furniture. I once did this and actually took a 4x4 put it on a lathe and made a kitchen table leg. By the time to take the reading, my BP had dropped a lot. White Coat syndrome is real, but it can be overcome with a little bit of patience.

Diet and exercise are the main things.
Less caffeine and salt, less alcohol and smoking/vaping.
Exercise is simple, park properly at shippers/receivers and walk to the office to check in instead of parking at the office, park near the back of truck stops and walk to the building and possibly a lap or two around the lot but watch out for speeding idiots, stop at a rest area for the night and walk a few laps around the perimeter, some rest areas and truck stops also have or offer access to trails you can walk on, Truck stops with hiking trails! For dogs and their truckers.

Also, when you go to the doctor ask them to recheck your blood pressure at the end of the exam. Your pressure may be higher at the start of the exam due to the drive in and being nervous about the exam. Have them recheck at the end before you leave and it will likely be a bit lower.

I listened to guided meditation videos using YouTube and that helps the most. You can watch your heart rate dropping as you learn to relax.
