The only advice I can give you this late in the game is lay off the caffiene and the cigarettes tomorrow morning. Take a few aspirin, that might thin your blood down and lower it some. If you had asked me a week ago, I would have advised you to take some CO Q-10, which you can find in the vitamins and supplements aisle at any Walmart. Trouble is that takes about a week to take effect, and it will only lower the top number, but not the bottom number in your BP readings. Eating a lot of celery the few days prior will supposedly lower it too. What ever you do, try not to worry or freak out. You want to be calm when they take the reading, if you are even the slightest bit anxious, that will raise it even higher. I close my eyes and picture myself on a Carribean beach.

No alcohol, no caffienated drinks, including Mtn Dew which has more caffiene then Coke or Pepsi.

No cigarettes or any tobacco at all. (which are really bad for you anyhow, I am a non smoker for 29 years now so I know its a ##### quitting).

There are some herbals that help with BP too but I cant remember what they are.

128/92, they gave me one year because of the 92. I was BUSTING to pee when I walked into the exam room, I'd been holding it all morning so I'd have something to put in the cup. First thing, blood pressure. I told the doctor my back teeth were floatin, but my pleas went unanswered. She checked it once, that's it.

I was 425 at the time. I'm down to 390 now. Nutrisystem. You pay $200 for a big box with 20 days worth of cardboard food. On the weekends I eat what I want, within reason. I snack on cans of green beans.

Like I said CO q-10 is just an herbal supplement, it's supposed to be good for your heart. It will lower your BP. You can find it at Wally World in a green bottle on the shelves by the pharmacy. A month's supply is only 12 bucks last time I checked.
    From Wikipedia:
    Blood pressure
There are several reports concerning the effect of CoQ10 on blood pressure in human studies.[17] In a recent meta-analysis of the clinical trials of CoQ10 for hypertension, a research group led by Professor Frank Rosenfeldt (Director, Cardiac Surgical Research Unit, Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, Australia) reviewed all published trials of Coenzyme Q10 for hypertension, and assessed overall efficacy, consistency of therapeutic action, and side-effect incidence. Meta-analysis was performed in 12 clinical trials (362 patients) comprising three randomized controlled trials, one crossover study, and eight open-label studies. The research group concluded that coenzyme Q10 has the potential in hypertensive patients to lower systolic blood pressure by up to 17 mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure by up to 10 mm Hg without significant side-effects.[18]

first off, you got really got lucky wiht your systolic being so low with you weight being so high...i'm around 355 (i last checked myself at like 347)...i really need to lose it but nothing works...tho i dont get the exercise i should and i cant afford to eat cardboard food like that nutrisystem #####...how long did it take you to lose that 35 lbs?
also i was told its never good to give them "the first pee of the day" like you did holding it in like that...thats not healthy to hold it in like that eihter but it can also give them a false reading as well and from what i was told your sugar levels r higher in the urine first thing in the morning...i just slurped down a MickeyD's Sweet Tea on the way there...lol and then another full cup of water b4 i had to go again...
btw what'd u mean by your back teeth were floatin?...never heard of that term b4...
oh and i am going to look into this CO-Q10...seems kinda expensive for vitamins tho..but if it could save my life or at least make a difference its worth it to me..anyway...i have no health insurance so i have to do everything as cheap as possible...if anyone has ANY suggestions i'm all ears! thanks:biggrin_2551:

I'd request a recheck, if your BP is normally lower.

I have been a blood donor for over 30 years, so I always know that my BP runs in the range of 106/70 to 120/80, which is just normal for me.

Went in for the physical and the nurse said I was 140/88. No way!

I opened up my wallet and showed her my last blood donation slip where they write your BP figures down and told her to do it in a few minutes again, or else.

Repeat BP test was 115/77. She didn't much care for me after that but at my age who cares what she thinks? :biggrin_25525:

Got a 2 Year Medical card in my wallet now !! :biggrin_255:
