Thanks to all of you and your advice and experiences! My husband and I really appreciate it!

So we got the truck towed the 2 miles to the shop, they only charged us $100. Good news is the mechanic showed me that there was no oil into the charge air cooler and oil only went through the exhaust. Bad news is we have the most expensive turbo so that set us back $3100 and wont be here till Monday.

Hopefully thats the last of the bad news!

Thanks Globetrotter: Appreciate you letting us know how it ended. Nothing is cheap with trucks. Everyone oughta own a truck for a while to see what is really involved. Thanks again... David:yes2557:

could be a lot worse. at least it is something that can be fixed. $ 3,100 is not cheap but I know of people who blew tran's & had to pay 6 to 10 grand. hope you have better luck after this. if you can get some good paying loads, it may help with this expense.

Is the truck in the shop now and have they removed the old one? Did they say how long to swap it out? I'm guessing around 6 hours.

Yeah he quoted us 5-6 hrs. We shall see tho when the final bill arrives! We tried to get overnight delivery but no one delivers out in BFE on Saturdays! :biggrin_25526:

I feel very lucky that our used truck we bought went 7 months before a large repair bill.

I would say to any new owner ops start saving for repairs straight away. :yes2557: Its never fun to be in this type of situation but it takes a huge load off your mind to know you will not be set back from it because you already have the mula to cover it.
