Blows my mind.

I haul a lot for a farm equipment mfg. They have a plant in iowa and 2 in ohio. I hauled a load of gravity wagons from Ohio to michigan. 175 miles from the Ohio plants. 1 in Ohio also makes gravity wagons. Only difference I can find between the 2 brand names. Is the brand name. It's always interesting.

Not really, they pretty much get paid what they're worth. Uneducated illiterates don't make much money and have to work to survive, unlike Americans & EU where people are paid to not work. I'll get blasted for this, but those clowns protesting in Hong Kong have more freedoms than Americans and are too inexperienced in life to realize it. Those protesters are aged 11 - 22 yrs. old on average and still live with mommy & daddy. China isn't like the American politicians want you to believe. I know this for a fact because I spend lots of time there & own rental property there.

As far as useless hauls, how does running blades from Grand Forks,ND to Longview,Wa, then reloading the exact same blade and taking it to Shelby,Mt (where we had been taking the blades from Grand Forks to). Blew my mind, especially with the cost to haul a blade (permits, escorts, trailer cost,and so on). I'd do it every week though if I could, and love it.
As far as the Cat stuff goes, they have plants in Japan and Brazil that have to be kept going, so they make stuff to send here regardless of whether the same machine is made in Illinois, Arkansas, or Texas. Galveston gets nothing that isn't made in Illinois or Arkansas, and we take it to Ia or Mn as a rule.
