    Should have just chained it to the locomotive and drug it back to the crossing to save time. The economic impact of having the rail line closed and the cost of all that equipment probably easily exceeds the value of the truck and trailer.

    They are likely both worried about punctureing anything with oil, fuel, coolant ect and a spark potentially causeing a fire. Then theres also the potential enviromental issues which could have the track shut down much longer for cleanup. And they also likely.dont want to risk damageing the rails and/or trail anymore then they already are. A broken rail would take much longer then 9 hours to replace.

    That said it would have been fun to watch.
