I did a fast forum search but couldn't see anything related.

Lot's of talk these days of dash cam's and in-cab cam's facing the driver.

Does anyone, or has anyone considered, wearing a body cam, like the PD does ? I know that prices for GoPro's etc have really dropped over the years.

I ask only because I had a run in this week with a young DOT guy who knew NOTHING about his job, but made up for it with attitude.I finally told him to start calling me, the taxpayer, Sir, and to call his supervisor. Fortunately, I knew the supervisor and the situation quickly eased, but if I hadn't know the boss, and the boss sided with his subordinate, then an audio / video body cam would've made ALL the difference in the world !

I'm considering it. I'll check prices this weekend.

Looking forward to your views and stories ! Tks

You don't want to see what I see, just like swift doesn't want to see what I DO.

You really think they can make a vest to hold the camera big enough to go around the bellys of some drivers

After the DOT is done beating you, they'll break your camera so you have no evidence.

Please do. But keep in mind, that, for it to be evidence in court, most states require you to inform all parties that they are being recorded. Guessing you'll end up on the DOT's most wanted list. Probably get pulled over and inspected thoroughly at every scale you come to. Can't even imagine what might happen once Ohio got wind of it. So, be sure to stop back here and let everyone know how that worked out for you.

Not in public places, and the Supreme Court has ruled that people can film police in the line of duty, provided you aren't interfering with them or trespassing or something like that.

Audio is nearly as good as video, and a bit cheaper and less noticeable.

Years ago, when I was working security for a county transit system, I always carried a tape recorder.
And for all those areas that require both parties to know they are being recorded, just say as you walk up...
    "You are being recorded".

Video is better, no doubt, in certain ways. But an audio recording captures all that is usually needed.
