I have heard that some shippers and receivers either refuse or give you a hard time about stamping the bill of lading with your time in and out.
That is pretty ignorant to say the least, since you are there to move their product or bring the product to them.
But anyway, my question really is how do you guys handle it if they don't want to stamp it?
You really should get the detention if they hold you up.

Just write the time on your copy if you need it for detention

I just use my ELD to prove where I was and for how long when it comes to detention. I email the day to the office and it gets turned in with my paperwork.

We carried the old clocks with one of my first employers on the dash which recorded pretty good to the card inside. No LEO was permitted at any capacity to access that particular device. They would have to get a warrant or contact the company etc.
On the other hand some of the devices were limited in speed and so forth so they had their uses.rachi, D.Tibbitt and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
It's easy enough to write the times on them.
Getting the receiver initials or sign by them is another story.
I've noticed many come up 5 or 10 minutes short of a full hour, so kiss that 45 or 50 minutes goodbye.
I can tell how everyone acts if they're gonna pay it or not.
With rates down, and the market volatility, everyone killing each other, the mediocre agents won't even ask for it, no matter how long you were there.
They are afraid of losing the customer.
The good agents, with good customers, it's SOP to get you loaded / unloaded expeditiously or you get paid.Cabinover101, Dino soar, Snailexpress and 1 other person Thank this.
