HEB in Sanantonio refused to sign BOLs day before Christmas , rescheduled alot of drivers and the staff inside told them if they didn't like it dont come back . Many of the Brokers I book jobs with require a call or I also send a email 30 minutes before Detention is about to start . Most the bigger brokers have a list of steps to bill and receive payment , JB Hunt requires the use of the App and written arrival and departure times easy to do . Been screwed over a couple times and those companies move down to the bottom of the list .

My company never determined detention by the date and time stamps on the BOLs. It started when I sent my arrival Macro and ended when I hit my loaded or empty macro.

I was a kid, but remember them asking what state you wanted a fuel receipt from too.

That's a complete BS what I have to go through sometimes to have them sign BOL properly, not to mention in and out times. I don't know why this has to be one sided requirement. They copy my CDL and want me to print and sign and yet it is a big deal for them to do the same when they receive their stuff. That signature and the in and out times are the basis for getting paid and I've seen that if it is not done properly they may use it as an excuse to delay the pay or try not to pay.
I also put the detention times myself, if they refuse. But this can be seen as a forfeit attempt, so it is better to communicate all the detention with the broker.

We have tracking on all of our trailers. Clock starts when it hit the geofence.

Have had several customers try and fail to wiggle out of detention. :p

The attitude at so many shippers and receivers is why I ended up parking my reefer and focusing completely on open deck.
