Hi everyone
new member here, i have a question regarding freight booking:i've been a dispatcher for a trucking company with more than 30 trucks for 3 years now, was planning on buying my own trucks and starting my own company, is there any reservations or restrictions in the broker end when booking freight with a new set up carrier?

I started my authority close to 12 years ago I personally only remember 1 company I came across that wouldn’t work with new carriers that was crst logistics said I’m pretty sure 6 months b4 they could work with me I never have used them since that first conversation.

I started running under my own authority in Oct. There are A LOT of brokers that wont work with new authorities but I still managed to make money. Just took many phone calls to find the ones that will. I was told that 50 percent of the brokers out there require 90 days and it feels about right. Since hitting that mark i havent really had any problems.

I guess maybe I'm alone here but I did all of the paperwork myself. DOT number is free. MC number is $300. Hvut was $1900 I think. Insurance was 2months up front, so about $3000. I'm sure I'm missing something. Schneider also wants 6 month old authority ( I found this hilarious)
CHR, TQL, Uber, Ryan transportation will all take you as new authority. -
I would also pay somebody to do it if I had to do it all over again. Tag was $300 in Georgia on used truck and UCR $60. KYU number free. Sure there's more to remember
