Do those have the classic tribal designon the top? what color do they have all black? Those are sound nice. I bought a pair of white ostrich Durango style boots yes and matching white ostrich belt but I dont supertruck...I only wear them while drivin I switch them as soon as I get to the drop or P-U. I look to look nice.

I see the comfort aspect of driving barefoot or with socks on,but. IMO its a bad idea. What if you have to get out of the truck in a hurry in Phoenix,Az and its 110 outside. The concrete/asphalt/whatever is 130+, your feet could anywhere from 2nd to 4th degree burns. The flip side is being in Denver,Co. and its 10 below. One could get frostbite to the point of losing some toes.

I always had my Irish Setter boots in the truck but rarely wore them when driving. My feet are huge and with boots on it's like driving with clown shoes. Best boots I ever had but they cost a pretty penny, although they've gone down in price now. The only boot I found to be truly waterproof on a motorcycle riding through thunderstorms and I tried many.

My pickup was stolen a couple months ago and sadly they were in it. I'll be buying another pair soon. The last pair was 8 years old and nowhere near to being done, just needed the soles replaced.

Currently I personally have a pair of Dan post's that I wear daily and If I get a long run (rarely) I will take my pair of Duluth trading drivers moccasins with me and toss my boots between the seats because my feet will love me alot more if I do that.

a pair of Merrell mid height waterproof hikers. lite and comfortable.

Fed DOT regs require hard soled foot wear when driving.

The pair I have are the DH1552 under the "work western" tab. I notice that all their boots are a lil different with soles and such, but I can't say enough of the ICE sole and DRYZ footbed. The ones I have have are the "oak" ice soles and some have black, but that refers to sole color. They are not cheap, but the quality and comfort is by far the best I have come across. I have had mine almost 2 years and I landscape and run equipment in mine and brush them up and head out to the pub on weekends. Like any good boot they have a break-in period of about a month. I used to love the Justin work wellingtons, but the soles would wear one-sided on me pretty quick and these hardly show any wear in 2 years. I'm not trying to be a salesman, but I appreciate good boots cause I'm on my feet 12-14 hrs day. If you like good dress boots check out Lucchese boots. Mighty fine handmade boots at good prices.

If driving OTR, I would recommend that you buy at least 2 pairs. This way, one pair will always be dry (inside). I personally right now have a pair of Red Wings that I bought maybe back in early spring of 2006, and they are the greatest, most comfortable work boots I have ever owned.

In fact, I have had them re-soled once (which I had to pay for), and recently (1 month ago), Red Wing replaced ALL the lace hole grommets FREE under the 'lifetime warranty", because every month, like clock work, the boot laces were getting cut by the grommets. I just did not have a spare pair of work boots to get this done earlier. So I bought a "cheapo Wally-World" pair, so I can get this warranty work done.

Will I ever buy another pair of Red Wings..??

You bet your "sweet bippy" I would!!!:biggrin_2559:

Take a look at the 511 Tactical Series boots... they are oil/slip resistant, water proof and I think they are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned... On my 4th pair now. They are a LEO and Military designed boot and you can get steel too or composite toe.

I've always liked Caterpillar boots. They are comfortable.
