You couldn't pay me enough to wear boots while I'm driving. I wear some slip on tennis shoe looking things I found at K-Mart. They only last for one time out, about 6-7 weeks, but they are cheap. I also wear tennis shoes outside of the truck. Never had any reason to have boots at all.

When a shipper or receiver DEMAND that you wear work boots or get off the dock and maybe even get off the property, and your dispatcher reads you the riot act, for losing a load, maybe then you will have a pair of boots available??

I'm 95% drop and hook. I have never been told I had to wear boots at any shipper or receiver. I'm a driver, not a dock worker. If I was in a line of work that required boots I'd lug some around. I would never drive with them on though.

I supposed you don't fix things wrong with the truck either, anything that may involve you getting dirty? Your a DRIVER not a dock worker, mechanic, laborer, etc. I always get a kick when I hear those phrases because last time I checked your there to get a job done no matter what you have to do to get your load delivered....thats what a DRIVER does. :yes2557:

I'm a company driver so technically I'm not allowed to fix anything. That doesn't stop me from doing minor repairs though. Go troll someone else now.

That's a cop out, You proved my point well enough though.

I wouldn't want you to do anything that would get you in trouble with your company.

I'm a company driver, i have to change fuel filters, air filters, adjust brakes when applicable, and make sure my truck is in working order.

I'm a driver, mechanic, dock worker and such. You wanna know why I put dock worker? Cuz i have to sweep out my trailer when I get to a customer if I didnt have time to do it before hand. I have to wear steel toe boots on all docks i go to, i have to have those boots when i walk through my trailer. We're 95% drop and hook too, but guess what, that number only counts on where you live and run. Id say im more of a 40% drop and hook. Ive worn my sneakers in to a customer one time just to do a drop and hook, i was sent back to my truck to put on steel toed shoes or else i would not be allowed on the property. I wear boots cuz their comfortable while i drive. I havent been to a customer yet that hasnt had me wear boots or steel toe shoes. Idk where you pick up from, but every customer ive been to has required me to have boots on.

Moccasins in the winter and barefoot the rest of the year.

Driving with boots is like steering with boxing gloves!

adjusting brakes? I've been written up by the DOT and told don't touch, for not being a certified mechanic. It makes you liable in the event of an accident.

Canada, the write up , Missouri and Pa the lecture when I got my wrench out.

If ya do it, don't say so and don't let the company make you responsible for your "proper" brake adjustment. had problems and was told just fix it yourself , not anymore. lol
