I'm a water hauler in the bakken looking for new boots. I run production water and basically anything I can fit in my tank. We do a lot of spill clean up, tank washes, and chemical work so I need waterproof, safety toe, and tread. Any recommendations? I wear slip on boots. These would be summer boots as I have winter boots that are way too hot for summer. I usually wear convoy style boots so preferable something along those lines. I wear my jeans outside of my boots but have been debating to switching to wearing them inside. Any advice on that as well? Thanks for the advice.

I wear these Ariats. Safety toe, waterproof from top to bottom as last week I had water up to a few inches from the top and stayed dry. Slip resistant, oil resistant and good tread. They are 11 inch, and run about $165-$170, just got them resoled and have no intentions of getting rid of them.
/rabbiporkchop, Steel Dragon, speedyk and 1 other person Thank this. -
I use bear fat on my boots seems to work better than the silicne spray

I used to run production water and did pits for a bit. I wore these, steel toed. I went through two pair in four years up there. They were great boots, and very comfortable. I bought mine in Minot at the mall. Men's Timberland PRO Rigmaster Waterproof Steel Toe Wellington Wheat Bandit Leather And they were waterproof, nothing got through these boots.

Summer I wore these Danners... Expensive but very comfortable. Still have them and they are still going strong. They make them in steel toe, they were waterproof and breathable.

Red Wings.
They are expensive but the only brand that I’ve found will stand up to beating your foot wear will take in this business.RockinChair, Steel Dragon and Goddragon555 Thank this. -
Red Wing. I wore the same ones when I worked for Nabors Drilling. Feet never got wet. I think Red Wing in Watford is still open.
rabbiporkchop, Steel Dragon and Goddragon555 Thank this. -
check out 511 boots they are what i wear for disaster relief work and have worked great. I have not covered them in water but they are supposed to be waterproof
Steel Dragon Thanks this. -
Steel toe Muck boots if your gonna be in water all day. Danners are worth the coin also, same with top of the line red wings or Irish setters.
The pair of Carolinas I have they don't make for some reason anymore. I've had em for 4 years still waterproof. I won't buy Carolina again their quality isn't what it used to beSteel Dragon Thanks this. -
I wear Dunlop steel toed rubber boots with vibram soles. Best boots ever IMO. I'm on my 3rd pair in 9 years. Only wear them spring and fall though.
Steel Dragon Thanks this.
