When I went to Cuba years ago Cuba would never stamp Canadian passports so US Customs wouldn’t harass us when entering US..
    Cuba loves the Canadian tourists

Yeah, unfortunately the E. German "greppos" didn't feel the same way about an American guy and a British guy when we entered from the U-bahn station at the bahnhof. He also had stamps from Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia on his passport, but the British border agents didn't care. Your stamp was dated, and was technically a 24-hour visa; they checked when leaving to make sure you didn't overstay your visit. If you did, you would become intimately familiar with a uniformed stasi agent...

I’ve always wondered. To use the fast lanes, do you have to have fast approved freight? Is that a thing? Most of the times I would want to use the fast lanes, if I had a card, I’m empty.

He was incorrect. We have us drivers that use nothing but enhanced drivers licenses to cross. One just crossed a few days ago for the first time at portal, only has his enhanced DL no passport and had a prior dui 15 years ago. He got pulled into secondary, interviewed, and was allowed to enter Canada.

You can get a passport card. It costs $30. That allows you to drive into Canada and return to the U.S. You don't need a passport book which costs $130 unless you're flying overseas.

Correct. Your load must be a fast load. In Detroit, the pure auto part loads are fast loads. But if you have 29 fast shipment and one paps, regular lane.

    BigHossVolvo and kylefitzy Thank this.

You will know when you have a FAST load, the paperwork is quite different, and the shipper will confirm your FAST CARD.

Fast Card with an empty is what I always used it for, no paperwork needed, just show card, say you're empty and off you go. Just make sure to log your FAST/CTPAT inspection at your last stop before the border.

    kylefitzy Thanks this.
